Auto Insurance
Klamath Falls, Oregon

Buying auto insurance is never as simple as it seems. Despite the fact that there are dozens of companies advertising the “best rates” on a daily basis, it’s hard to figure out which ones are best, and more importantly, whether you’re getting quality insurance for your money. Solving this problem and serving Klamath Falls has been our mission since 1985.

Which Policy is Right For You?

Here’s one important area where a lot of people get misled—they see the “state minimum” requirement for auto insurance, assume that’s enough coverage because it is offered to them, and buy it only to find out later that it’s not even close to enough to cover the damages from a serious accident. It's always better to buy more insurance than you need, and in Oregon, premiums are low enough that you’ll only pay a few extra dollars each month for thousands of dollars in additional coverage.

State Law FAQs

Since car insurance can be tricky, here are some of the common frequently asked questions and their answers to help you get a better understanding before you buy.

Is Auto Insurance in Klamath Falls Mandatory?

All residents in the state of Oregon that own and drive a vehicle are required to have auto insurance on that vehicle. Again, the state minimum requirements may not be sufficient to provide the coverage that you actually need, but it is a law to have insurance.

What if I Can’t Get Coverage?

Some drivers that have a poor driving record or history of suspensions may struggle to find insurance coverage. Oregon has an Assigned Risk Pool that can help these drivers get the coverage that they need. This is not available to everyone, but it is an option for some.

When Should I Get Insurance?

You need to purchase an auto insurance policy as soon as you purchase a vehicle. If you already have insurance, you should notify your insurance provider immediately that you have purchased a different vehicle so that your policy can be updated. Technically, you have up to 14 days where coverage will be extended to a different car even if it’s not listed on the policy, but there’s no sense in waiting longer than necessary.

Why are My Premiums So High?

Some drivers have higher premiums than others because of their driving record. In Oregon, the insurance companies are permitted to use your previous three years of driving history as a means of rating you for insurance purposes. If you have a lot of tickets and accidents, you are going to have higher premiums than those with a clean record.
